N Use a pencil to mark a diagonal line on wrong side of each gold print 27⁄ 8" square.

N Layer a marked gold print square atop a dark green print 27⁄ 8" square. Sew together with two lines, stitching ¹⁄ 4" on each side of drawn line (Diagram 1).

N Using remaining marked gold print squares and dark green print squares, repeat steps 2 and 3 to make 216 triangle-squares total.

direction with each row. Join rows to make a short sashing unit. Press seam in one direction. The short sashing unit should be 41⁄2t12¹⁄ 2" including seam allowances. Repeat to make six short sashing units total.

N Referring to Quilt Assembly Diagram on page 52, sew together 32 triangle-squares in

two horizontal rows. Press seams in one direction, alternating direction with each row. Join rows to make a long sashing unit. Press seam in one direction. The unit should be 32¹⁄2t4¹⁄ 2" including seam allowances. Repeat to make a second long sashing unit.

N Lay out appliquéd blocks and short and long sashing units in five horizontal rows. Sew together pieces in each block row; press seams toward blocks. Join rows to make quilt center. Press seams toward block rows. The quilt center should be 32¹⁄2t44¹⁄ 2" including seam allowances.
